Most expensive divorce in the world?

It will probably be the most expensive divorce in history. Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, and his wife MacKenzie were married for twenty-five years. They announced on Twitter their intention to divorce.

The Amazon’s boss has a fortune estimated at more than $137,2 billion. He explained that he decided to separate “after a period of reflection”, suggesting that the decision was made jointly.

The couple had not entered into a prenuptial agreement. It is logical that Jeff Bezos fortune should be divided equally between him and his wife

However, the American press reveals that he actually left his wife for his mistress, with whom he had had a secret relationship for several months. This 49-year-old woman named Lauren Sanchez is an American TV presenter.

According to Bloomberg Mackenzie could very quickly become the wealthiest woman in the world after the division of assets. At $137.2 billion, Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world and, because of his ex-husband’s assets, Mackenzie would have a net worth of $69 billion.

The couple had not entered into a prenuptial agreement. It is logical that Jeff Bezos fortune should be divided equally between him and his wife.

The couple is also the largest landowner in the United States because their fortune includes 400,000 acres of land, and according to real estate experts, this sharing will not be the easiest.

If Jeff Bezos leaves half of his assets in this divorce, the list of the wealthiest men in the world will change. Mackenzie will join the club. Bill Gates will take back the first place that Amazon’s founder and major shareholder took from him in October 2017.
