Apple confirms that some of the new iPad Pro are sold doubled

Some users reported on social networks that the new Ipad Pro had a curvature in the chassis.

Apple has confirmed that some of its iPad Pro 2018 come with a curvature in the device’s aluminium chassis. The company told The Verge specialist media that it is a side effect of the device’s manufacturing process. Nevertherless, that should not adversely affect the performance of the iPad.

The statement is based on several users reporting the incidence in social networks and forums on the Internet. Some comments mentionned that the small curve appeared gradually after normal use. However, the company noted that, as it is a manufacturing defect, it should not get worse over time. The fold is the result of a cooling process. It involves the metallic and plastic components of the iPad Pro during manufacturing.

Both, the new iPad Pro, i.e. the models of 11 and 12.9 inches, can present the problem. The problem seems to be more pronounced in the LTE model which is a standard for high-speed wireless communications. This problem is the result of a plastic strip that breaks the flat aluminium sides of the iPad. And that’s where it locates the antenna line.

Those affected by this problem may request a change in the Apple Store or other retailers. But it is not clear if the swaps will be allowed after this period of time.

Apple had already been in the eye of the hurricane for a similar controversy. At the time a flex in the chassis of the iPhone 6 even caused failures in mobile devices. The company had to launch a repair program to address the issue.
